In Madesjö Hembygdsmuseum you will enter directly into environments that existed in grandmother's and great-grandmother's time. Here is the trading stall with smells from the past, here is the farmer's kitchen, where he himself rests on the couch for a while. There is the blacksmith's shop, the carpenter's workshop, the glassworks and much, much more.
In the long wooden building with church stables from the 19th century (Sweden's second longest) you can experience about 30 different environments, with authentic objects and stories about what life was like 100-150 years ago.Once upon a time there were stables for hundreds of horses. Each village had its own key to the stables.
In the stables you will find a number of exciting objects with everything from old chainsaws and shoemaker's tools to nostalgic toys and hand-sewn dresses. Each with its own unique story.
Step over the threshold to bygone times!
There is a café in the building that is open when the museum is open. With the opportunity to sit and have a coffee both indoors or on Klockareängen at the back.
